Garden makeover in Dublin 6W

A project to design and landscape an old garden in Dublin 6W and create a low maintenance sub-urban oasis for the busy owners.

Closely following the completion of significant refurbishment works to the property, the proud owners next turned their attention to completing a major overhaul of the old garden. The generously sized garden enjoyed a bright and private aspect in a very popular and mature Dublin 6W neighbourhood. Keen to exploit its generous size, the owners were committed to developing a garden rich in planting and features but one which would not be too demanding in terms of ongoing maintenance requirements.

Fortunately the garden was clutter free, boasting a generous lawn area but the adhoc and coarse finishing to aspects of the boundary walls demanded specific attention.

Three key elements of the new design featured timber cladding of all boundary walls to provide a more unified and appealing garden boundary, a substantial site embracing raised planting bed finished in natural sandstone with a drystone finish to provide a stunning, structured and elevated planted area with the added benefits of easy access to all planted areas and lots of informal seating and a new roll turf lawn area would retain a central position in the new layout.
