Less than a week to return property tax form

Less than a week to return property tax form

If you’re completing a paper LPT return form, the filing date is less than a week away – Tuesday, 7 May. If you’re filing on paper, do it now. A further three weeks is available if you file online (28 May).

Remember, LPT is a self-assessed tax. This means that you decide the value of your property, fill in your return online or on paper, choose a payment option and send it to Revenue.

If you own a residential property and have not yet received your return form, you are still liable for the tax and you must file your return. You can file online @ www.revenue.ie by clicking on the “I have not received a Property PIN” tab or you can file online over the phone by ringing 1890 200 255. You will need your property details and details of your bank account or other source from which you want the payment deducted.

If you’re registered with ROS to file your own returns online, you should check your ROS inbox now and file before 28 May.

If you’ve received an LPT return but are not the owner of the property, you need to contact Revenue with the name(s), address(es) and PPSN(s) of the liable person(s). If you don’t, we will still think you are liable, and will pursue you for the LPT in respect of the property.

If you have any queries or need assistance filing your return, contact the LPT helpline on 1890 200 255.

The helpline is open from 8am to 8pm from Wednesday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm on Saturday and from 8am to 8pm on Tuesday.

So far there have been just under 200,000 calls made to the helpline, with 332,500 property tax returns being made to date.
